Create Bonsai With Your Own Hands

Bonsai - these miniature trees evoke admiration and delight at first glance. How is it possible to grow bizarre forms of powerful representatives of juniper, pine or cedar in such a small size? The first acquaintance with Bonsai usually takes place in a flower shop, or if you're lucky you can get a mini-tree as a gift. If you want to grow Bonsai alone - be patient, get the necessary knowledge and plant your tree. Growing of the first tree is usually unsuccessful - after all, you are just learning.||Beginners are advised to start with juniper, linden or beech - a safe choice. Then you can try to grow an oak. Remember: it is necessary to deal with bonsai every day - it's hard work; you should even keep records: the timing of planting and transplanting, watering and feeding. Start your bonsai practice in spring. Two or three years seedlings of juniper, beech, larch or other trees are suitable for creating bonsai in a garden.||In the indoor environment growing bonsai of these trees is difficult, because room conditions are not suitable for the species which are used to outdoors and the climatic extremes of temperature. Slow-growing plants are suitable for indoor bonsai: ficus, hibiscus, myrtle, bougainvillea, room acacia, pomegranate, gardenia, schefflera and many other plants.||To grow bonsai, you need flat containers with low sides, sandy soil, knife, special or copper wire, scissors and forceps for bonsai.||For bonsai select a low plant with well-developed crown and woody stems. Before planting, shorten the roots by about 1/3, while being careful not to damage the root fibers. Bonsai is transplanted in 2-3 years with shortening the length of the roots. Water the bonsai every day, patiently and carefully, avoiding leaching of land from the container. Fertilizing is done during the growing season every 8-14 days with liquid fertilizers. In mid-summer, when the plant is fully adapted you can begin the formation of bonsai crown.||From the main stock remove several sprouts, leaving one at the bottom left and the other on the right above, the third at the back, and so on until the top in a spiral. At the end of the third year you can remove the branches more drastic, since by this time the plant becomes like a real bonsai.
