Fascinating Alabama with Many Attractions

One of the main attractions of the whole Alabama is Dauphin Island with several birds’ nature reserves, the main of which is Audubon Bird Sanctuary area of ​​66 hectares. Dauphin Island is the best place for bird watching, a variety of which is striking (347 species have been registered there). During spring migration, Dauphin Island is the first stop for many birds flying over the Gulf of Mexico to the Yucatan Peninsula.

Also in Mobile Bay there is a Fort Gaines (1821), marked by the events of the American Civil War, and Marine Laboratory with aquarium. It has its own airport and pier, several historic sites and restaurants, but most of the tourists are attracted by beaches of the island. Another historical fort, located in Mobile Bay is Fort Morgan (1834), which, according to many scientists, is "one of the best examples of military architecture in the New World”.

Among other places which are worth a visit are: Birmingham with its giant statue of Vulcan - the Roman god; Space and Rocket Center USA in Huntsville; Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery; Miniature city Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman and several National parks and nature reserves.
